As Acting Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs at the State Department, Julia and her staff work tirelessly to strengthen diplomatic efforts and secure the safe return of Americans held hostage overseas. Dr. Nesheiwat and her team successfully negotiated the release of US hostages from Afghanistan this month.  Dr. Nesheiwat has held many high level positions in government including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Implementation in the Bureau of Energy Resources.
